American rapper Kid Cudi dressed up as a bride for the 2021 CFDA Awards.
On Wednesday night, Nov. 10, the rapper arrived at the event dressed to the nines in a white lace ensemble designed by CFDA’s American Emerging Designer of the Year nominee, Eli Russell Linnetz.
“I just out of the blue sent him a text of a wedding dress and I was like, ‘Will you be my bride?'” Linnetz, who designs for his label ERL, told PEOPLE.
“I trust this man so I was down to take it wherever his mind went,” Cudi told PEOPLE.
He accessorized the look with a meaningful pendant necklace.
“This is the Black Jesus — deep, dark chocolate brown,” Cudi added.
Fans were perplexed as to what message he was attempting to convey, whether he was Christ’s bride or allied with the LGBTQ community.
The last time Kid Cudi wore a dress, it became a topic of discussion. Last night, I wore a dress again, which drew some attention.
