Mike Bianco was named head coach of the Rebel baseball team. Since then, Bianco has become the program’s winningest coach, guided the Rebels to their sole national title, and established Ole Miss as one of the top programs in collegiate baseball. Bianco has led the program to 18 postseason appearances in 22 seasons, including eight Super Regional berths and two visits to the College World Series. He has 854 wins and a record of 854-485-1 (.638).
Those victories are the most in Rebel baseball history, and they rank third all-time among SEC coaches. He is also the winningest and longest-tenured coach in the SEC in baseball, men’s basketball, and football. Bianco eclipsed Rebel icon Jake Gibbs with his 486th win on March 9, 2013, against Lipscomb in an on-conference competition to become the all-time winningest coach in Ole Miss history. When his Rebels defeated Texas A&M 13-3 on Friday, April 26, Bianco won his 739th game as head coach in Oxford, pushing him past South Carolina’s Ray Tanner for third all-time in SEC history.

Mike Elko is the current head football coach at Duke University in the United States. From 2018 until his appointment by Duke on December 10, 2021, he was the defensive coordinator at Texas A&M.
Mike Elko Education, and Early Life
Elko grew up in South Brunswick, New Jersey, and graduated from South Brunswick High School in 1995, where he played baseball, basketball, and quarterback for the school’s football team. In 1994, he was named the Greater Middlesex Conference’s outstanding quarterback by the coaches, and he was put into the school’s sports hall of fame in 2012.
He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a member of the Penn Quakers football team that won the Ivy League title in 1998.
Career of Mike Elko
Elko coached for 12 seasons under Dave Clawson before being named defensive coordinator at Notre Dame. He played two seasons with Clawson at Fordham and Richmond, five seasons at Bowling Green, and three seasons at Wake Forest.
During the 2016 season, Elko’s Wake Forest defense finished in the top 20 of the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) in defensive touchdowns, turnovers, red zone defense sacks, and scoring defense The three other FBS teams to do this on defense were Alabama, Clemson, and Washington, who were among the four teams chosen to play in that season’s College Football Playoff postseason tournament.
